Book editing and design

The ‘Scientific Medical Information’ department of the Central Medical Library offers the following services for a wide range of book publications (monographs, textbooks, manuals, dissertations, etc.):

Language and bibliographic editing;
Text clarification with authors;
Formatting (pagination), including processing of illustrative material
Proofreading and revision;
Submission of final proof to the responsible author/editor for approval
Registration of the work with ISBN in the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”;
Preparation of cover design;
Assistance in selecting a printing house (if needed);
Contact with the printer chosen by the client.

We perform full or partial pre-print preparation, according to author specifications. The minimum requirement is for one editorial proofread.

We specialize in working with scientific medical literature and accept requests for books, both from authors at the Medical University of Sofia and from external commissioners.

Services shall be paid according to the Central Medical Library’s price list after the work has been completed, as per a final calculation. We publish only with funding provided by the client. Terms are negotiated individually for each request.

We do not carry out distribution and sales. In accordance with the ‘Compulsory Deposit of Printed and Other Works’ Law, we ask for and deposit the required number of books to the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, as well as for copies deposited to the collection of the Central Medical Library.
