Publishing services

The publishing services of the Central Medical Library are carried out by the Scientific Medical Information Department and include:

University journals: complete publishing cycle from peer-review and revision of submitted articles, language and bibliographic editing, formatting, proofreading and printing through to distribution. The titles in our publishing catalog are well-known by several generations of Bulgarian doctors. They are multidisciplinary or specialized, scientific and peer-reviewed. Types of articles include original case reports, reviews, reports from scientific forums etc.
Most of our journals are indexed in international databases, including Acta Medica Bulgarica – the official journal of the Medical university – Sofia, which is open-access and available to read online by Sciendo.
Journals of Bulgarian scientific medical societies and associations: pre-print preparation, including language and bibliographic editing, formatting and proofreading. The journals are available in the Central Medical Library collection for reading but are not distributed by the library.
Books: pre-print preparation, including language and bibliographic editing, formatting, proofreading, cover design, ISBN registration, working with the printing house chosen by the author / contracting authority. These books are available in the Central Medical Library collection for reading but are not distributed by the library.
