Inter-library loan

Inter-library loan is a specialized service, in which one library obtains from another library (in the country or abroad) a library document on behalf of the user, which the library does not have in its own collection.

The Central Medical Library provides an inter-library loan service for:

books to/from other libraries in Bulgaria
articles from periodicals in electronic or printed format – from/to other libraries in Bulgaria or abroad.

How to request the service

Sending a book from Central medical library’s collection is subject to permission by “Library and Information” department manager or Director of CML. It is possible only for books available in more than a single copy. We do not send rare or valuable books, or those in physical condition, which may be endangered if taken out of the library.

Delivery: subject to availability and courier delivery terms.

Loan duration: as approved by “Library and Information” department manager or Director of CML.

Books received from other libraries can only be used in CML reading rooms, for a term approved by the sending library. In case of book damage, sanctions are applied as per the CML Rules and regulations and sending library’s Rules and regulations.
