Bibliometric Reports
– Web of Science and Scopus search (international citations)
The citation records of the publications of Bulgarian scientists, researchers, PhD students, lecturers, etc. are made using the data available on Web of Science (Clarivate) and Scopus (Elsevier) databases. They include a check for number of citations retrieved based on the author’s name (by the Latin versions submitted by the author), and are prepared based on a complete and correct bibliographic list of publications provided by the author.
We prepare an official letter summarizing the results of the search, accompanied by lists from Web of Science and Scopus, including the number of citations (self-citations are excluded) and h-index.
Delivery: within 20 (twenty) working days.
Price: see Price list.
– Central Medical Library database search (national citations)
The Library maintains its own database of bibliographic information from Bulgarian journals since 1990s, which can be used to track down documents that cite an author’s publications. The results include a check for the presence and number of citations retrieved by an author’s name, based on a complete and correct bibliographic list of publications provided by the author.
We prepare an official letter summarizing the results of the search, accompanied by a list of (bibliographic) descriptions of the documents, in which citations to the author’s relevant publications were found
Delivery: within 20 (twenty) working days.
Price: see Price list.

The report provides information on the availability of indexing (also called referencing) of scientific journals in the international databases Web of Science and Scopus, including the scientific metrics of the journals, including:
- Impact factor: a quantitative bibliographic indicator that is often used as a measure of the relative importance and impact of a journal in a given scientific field. It is determined annually for journals that are indexed in Web of Science (Clarivate) and is published, along with other indicators, in the journal’s profile in Journal Citation Reports (JCR). It is calculated by dividing the number of articles cited by a journal in a 2-year period by the total number of articles published in that journal in that 2-year period.
- Quartile: Within each scientific field, journals are distributed by quartiles (Q). Each scholarly journal falls into one of four quartiles (Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4), with Q1 for the highest ranked journals and Q4 for the lowest ranked journals. Information on a journal’s respective quartile is available in both Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and Scimago Journal & Country Rank (based on Scopus data).
- Impact Rank (SJR): an indicator that takes into account both the number of citations received by a journal and the prestige of the journals from which the citations come.It is calculated annually and can be checked in the publicly available online portal Scimago Journal & Country Rank (based on data from Scopus).
We prepare an official report including a list of retrieved results and attach copies from the relevant databases.
A complete and accurate bibliographic list of the author’s publications in the relevant journals (including ISSN and year of publication of the journals) must be attached to the application in order to prove the existence of actual publications.
Delivery: within 5 (five) working days.

The Thematic report is a search and creation of a bibliographic list of publications on a freely formulated topic and keywords set by the client (may include: author, years of publication, languages, type of publications, etc.).
Thematic reports are produced by the Library based on:
- our own electronic catalogue (for post-1990 publications), and/or
- our e-resources catalogue and databases available at the time of the request.
The results depend on the type of resources chosen.
We prepare a formal letter summarizing the results of the reference, accompanied by a list of the retrieved results.
Delivery: within 5 (five) working days.
Price: see Price list.
