Abstract. Infection by Mycoplasma pneumoniae (M. pneumoniae) has high incidence and important clinical impact. This intracellular pathogen causes upper and lower res-piratory tract infections in all age groups, especially the vulnerable; M. pneumoniae is a leading cause of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in childhood, adoles¬cence and young adulthood. People with atopy are prone to bronchial obstruction. There are no specific clinical or radiological findings of mycoplasma pneumonia that can differentiate it from other causes of CAP.

Key words: Mycoplasma pneumoniae, community-acquired pneumonia
