Abstract. Combined trauma of musculoskeletal system and facial skeleton leads to a life-threatening condition that can be fatal. The role of the maxillofacial surgeon and that of the orthopedic surgeon in such a setting is to determine the nature of the bony injuries and the subsequent emergency measures to deal with them. Of particular importance in the early phase of trauma is the diagnosis of fractures of the pelvis and/or long tubular bone and the degree of associated soft tissue damage. These injuries are serious, severe and difficult to manage. In order to achieve a good end result, collaboration between individual specialists and good organization in emergency trauma centers are important.
