The impact of health education on reproductive health: expert opinions

Abstract. Health education is a process of mastering health knowledge and skills. The knowledge provided increases the level of health culture, which allows for making informed healthy choices. The unhealthy lifestyle and risky sexual behavior of adolescents will inevitably have an adverse impact on their health in the future. The topic raises the question of the level of health, including sexual education, at school. The aim of this study is to explore the opinions of experts regarding the impact of health education on women’s health. Material and Methods: A survey has been conducted through a direct anonymous survey of 214 experts on women’s health issues of reproductive age. Results: According to the surveyed experts, health education in high school is insufficient for the formation of a health culture; sexual education and upbringing should be part of the general education and upbringing; changes are needed in the educational system regarding health and sexual education; conversations with adolescents on sexual and reproductive health issues should begin at an earlier age. Conclusion: There is an ever-increasing need to improve health, including sexual culture, and to improve health, including sexual education among adolescents.
