Abstract. Introduction: Genital bleeding is one of the most common reasons for visiting a gynecological office. Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is considered any genital bleeding outside of menstrual cycles or during and after menopause. Objective: To differentiate the risk factors for the development of AUB and the role of the midwife in its prevention. Materials and Methods: A prospective study was conducted among AUB patients from May 2022 to March 2024. A total of 90 women examined in the Hinkomed Medical Center were included in the study. A documentary method was employed, and statistical processing was conducted using MS Office Excel 2019 and SPSS v.28 software programs. Results: The study revealed the following risk factors: concomitant diseases (72.2%), smoking (61.1%), excessive use of hormonal preparations (17.8%), and alcohol use (16.7%). The main activities of the midwife in the fight against AUB are outlined, namely education, promotion, and prevention. Conclusion: AUB is associated with high emotional anxiety and accounts for one third of the reasons for gynecological examinations. Healthcare professionals can increase health awareness among the female population regarding the risk factors for the development of AUB which would lead to a reduction in their impact. Annual examinations by a specialist obstetrician-gynecologist, combined with consultation with a healthcare professional, support the effective management of risk factors associated with the development of AUB
