Postoperative wounds – complications and treatment

Abstract. The healing of postoperative wounds is a biological process that restores damaged tissues. Complications can include infection, wound dehiscence, hematoma, seroma, and others. Each of these requires a specific approach and treatment. The aim of this study of the medical literature on the problem of postoperative wound complications and their treatment is to review modern achievements and methods around the world and to propose an algorithm for action. 51 literature sources were reviewed, mainly from the last 5 years. Based on the analysis of the data, a treatment protocol and an innovative approach to postoperative wounds were proposed.
