Abstract. Infantile hemangiomas are the most common benign vascular tumors in infancy. There is a consensus and recommendation for an interdisciplinary approach for their treatment. Ulceration is the most common complication of infantile hemangioma. Ulcerations are observed more often in superficial hemangiomas and the main localization of hemangioma on the head, neck, limbs, torso or perineum. The approach and treatment of ulcerating hemangiomas causes a number of discussions and therapeutic difficulties. Ulcerating hemangioma (UH) requires rapid therapeutic decisions, both from a pediatric and dermatological point of view. We present a clinical case of delayed treatment of infantile hemangioma with ulceration and the excellent result achieved by the combination of conventional treatment with a beta-blocker and non-standard local treatment.

Key words: infantile hemangiomas, ulceration
