Abstract. The present work presents a literature review of publications on the assessment of the quality of life and adherence to therapy of patients with myelofibrosis in the world literature and in our country. A search for publications was conducted in the scientific literature databases PubMed, Google Scholar and Bulgarian databases. The search keywords were myelofibrosis, quality of life, adherence, adherence to therapy. Fifteen publications were identified and discussed in this review in terms of the quality-of-life measures used, adherence scales and patient outcomes. A review of the literature on quality of life and adherence to therapy in patients with myelofibrosis indicates that these are characteristics of therapy that are not well studied but are important for clinical outcomes. Quality of life has been the subject of research following the introduction of innovative treatments, and many new assessment tools are currently being developed, targeting specific clinical improvements and general health status. Adherence to therapy is underestimated by physicians and is generally not high and can seriously compromise the effectiveness of treatment.
Key words: myelofibrosis, quality of life, adherence to therapy
