Severe drug-induced extrapyramidal syndrome from administration of depot neuroleptic in a child: a clinical case report

Abstract. The material describes a case of severe medication induced extrapyramidal syndrome from the administration of depot neuroleptic in a 10-year-old child. The circumstances, clinical picture and treatment are presented. Conclusions were made about the need for increased attention of medical teams in case of poisoning with a depot neuroleptic in childhood due to the possibility of recurrence of extrapyramidal symptoms. Undesirable medicinal effects of administration of the antidote akineton have been reported. An algorithm for therapeutic behavior is given.
