Building maintenance and summer working hours
Dear readers and visitors,
At the beginning of August 2025, we began partial renovation works in the central corridor of the library building, which has made access to most of our premises impossible. The initially planned repair period was two weeks, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it needs to be extended.

For this reason, from Monday, 18 August we will be able to open only Reading Hall 2 for you, under the following restrictions:
- The entrance and exit for Reading Hall 2 will be accessible only from the Post Office side (located in the same building, to the left of the library’s main entrance);
- Access to the library’s restrooms will not be possible; therefore, you will need to use those located on the second floor opposite the “Chilov” auditorium, with an entrance from the Clinic of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Aleksandrovska University Hospital;
- Requests for books, journals, and dissertations located outside Reading Hall 2 will be limited due to lack of access to most of our book storage facilities.
What will be available in Reading Hall 2 during the renovation:
- Up to 35 seats;
- High-speed wireless Internet access for (you can use your own laptops, tablets, phones, and other mobile devices);
- A handy reference collection with the most frequently used literature, including textbooks, manuals, atlases, etc.;
- Books for home loan;
- Librarians to assist in finding literature, providing consultations, and handling the borrowing and returning of books.
The library’s main entrance will be limited to the entrance corridor, where the Registration Desk is located, as well as vending machines for beverages and packaged snacks. For further information, questions, and library card registration, please visit the Registration Desk.
For your convenience, many of our services are available online, including:
- Bibliometric reports – you can send your requests by email;
- Remote access to databases;
- Search and access to electronic online resources;
- Search for printed resources – the catalog is available online 24/7. Use it to check whether the document you need (by title, author, subject, or other) is available in our collection. The full description of the retrieved results will provide the call number and information about the location of the library item.
Thank you for your understanding!
