Abstract: Ultrasound is one of the most important technologies in modern medicine, providing a non-invasive, accessible and effective method of diagnosis. The history of ultrasound traces its development from the initial use of sound waves in industry to its integration into medicine, with a particular emphasis on the diagnosis of head and neck diseases. Sinus sonography, as part of ultrasound examinations, plays a key role in the detection of sinusitis, cysts, and other pathological conditions. This review examines the historical stages of development of ultrasound diagnostics, its main applications in the head and neck areas, as well as current challenges and prospects for future development.
