Abstract. Occupational pathology studies diseases of various organs and systems developed because of exposure to different risk factors in the working environment. Some of the symptoms and syndromes associated with occupational diseases, or the methods for their diagnosis, bear the names of prominent scientists, researchers and physicians. Sometimes, we tend to miss the information about some of these persons. An eponym is a person (real, mythological or fictional) who gives his name to a certain definition or period of time. Individuals with significant achievements in different fields of medicine undoubtedly deserve our recognition. In this review, we aim to present the most frequently used eponyms in occupational intoxications and many nervous, internal and surgical diseases developed because of contact with the working environment.
