Abstract. Lack of keratinized tissue and gingival recession are among the most common mucogingival deformities. We present a 33-year-old patient diagnosed with generalized periodontitis, stage II, without systemic diseases, with Miller’s class III gingival recessions in the frontal area of the mandible. After initial therapy and achieved periodontal health in reduced periodontium, in the corrective phase of periodontal therapy two consecutive surgical interventions were planned and performed in the teeth area 43, 42 and 33, respectively. The operative technique involves a coronally advanced fl ap plus connective tissue graft (CAF + CTG). A year and 9 months after surgery, tooth 43 has complete root coverage and tooth 42 has a residual 1 mm gingival recession, which is predictable. Nine months after the operative intervention in the area of tooth 33 there is a complete root cover. The reduction of root hypersensitivity achieved in the patient is important for improving function, and good soft tissue integration is associated with high esthetic results.

Key words: gingival recession, coronally advanced flap, connective tissue graft
