Abstract. In pediatric practice, often situations that are not typical in the care of adult patients are present. The article examines current problems related to social inequality, which has a high impact on the developing child’s organism, making children the most affected contingent. Young children are a particularly vulnerable group, whose susceptibility to diseases and injuries can be directly explained by their mental and physical immaturity and fragile emotional and behavioral balance. The health status of parents also influences the health of offspring through perinatal exposure, genetics, and lifestyle habits. This determines their dependence and commitment to the highest degree to the family, as well as to the social and educational environment in which they live. Psychological and social support of the family, as well as the algorithm of conflict mediation in pediatric practice, have a particularly important role, since in practice they turn out to be the direct link between individual social determinants and good child health.
