Abstract. The introduction of new technologies such as virtual reality (VR) into nurse training and education can radically change the nurse‒patient relationship. This offers potential benefits but raises questions about how best to preserve the core values of nursing. The aim of this article is to study and analyze the possibilities of applying virtual reality in nurse education and practice. PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases were explored and analyzed for the effectiveness of virtual reality in nurse education. Virtual reality has been found to have the potential to transform future nurse education, but to embrace this new technology, educators need extensive training, preparation, and knowledge in VR technologies, as well as institutional support for their implementation in the curriculum.
